Job Description Summary
Reporting to the Industrial Performance Manager, the Process Engineer works to ensure efficient and effective machinery operations by continuously analyzing the machinery and analyzing performance by utilizing effective standards and measures. This position is critical to determine and guide implementation of corrective actions to maximize performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Focus on OEE improvement, including production line speeds and process improvements.
  • Optimize plant layout, equipment effectiveness and reduce or eliminate down time and waste.
  • Monitors and coordinates testing and makes draft reports/analysis.
  • Apply standardized settings based on analysis of results.
  • Implementation of corrective actions in response to defects generated by the process.
  • Identify and prioritize, implement, process improvements for maximum results.
  • Compile and update procedures (SOP&##39;s) and other working documents.
  • Support, engage and align operators by providing the necessary resources, training to solve daily problems.
  • Independent technical project management including monthly progress reporting to IP Manager.
  • Study of the root causes of malfunctions and provide solutions (adjustments, standard configurations, etc.).
  • Works together with Maintenance and supervises during assembly, testing and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Works together with shift Supervisors, to ensure the safe operation of new equipment and/or adjustment is learned through training or Alchemy system.
  • Active member of the Safety Team.
  • Assures improvements made to the processes and lines maintain or improve Quality standards on all finished products.
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices as stated within the policy.
  • Follows all Safety Rules and procedures by working safely and ensuring safety of others.
  • Follow all food safety procedures.
  • Follows all environmental protocols as applicable to the job.
  • Works in alignment with Bel Priorities

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor&##39;s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Process Engineering or other related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of engineering experience in manufacturing, food and/or dairy industry experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.

Skills and Experience:

  • IT Tools management (data analysis experience) is required.
  • Strong math and computer skills required.
  • Demonstrated positive safety leadership skills is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in lean manufacturing and process improvement required, Six Sigma certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement tools: Kaizens, PDCA, or DMAIC is required.
  • Experience of PCS/Tier Meeting structures and 5S is a plus.
  • Tooling Development experience is a plus.

Working Conditions: Hours of work will generally be during regular plant business hours with a minimum 40 hours a week. At times there will be some variation in work hours due to special projects, deadlines and other concerns.
