Process Engineer (19-243) Department: Engineer
Days per Week: 5 Shift: DAYS
Required Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited college is preferred. Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited college is required.
Must have a minimum of three years experience in designing and troubleshooting aseptic beverage processing, storage, filling, and packaging systems. Must have a minimum of five years experience in food manufacturing process design with a strong emphasis on control systems, batch and continuous processes, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and process optimization. Familiarity with microbial principles as applied to aseptic and thermal processing is desired. Three years experience managing capital improvement projects is preferred.
Must have strong interpersonal skills, and a proven track record for excellence in organizing and leading efforts to design & optimize production processes and devise operational procedures & engineering design standards. Must have excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills. Must be capable of working with minimal supervision and available to work whenever needed to complete assignments. Must have a valid drivers license and the ability to travel to other facilities.
Essential Job Functions:
Work with production leaders and the engineering staff to set standards for aseptic system design & engineering quality and implement methods to ensure these standards are met. Serve as a leader for identifying the root causes of problems, and evaluating the financial and technological feasibility of capital improvement projects. Exercise initiative in addressing technical and procedural issues, and proactively form cross functional teams for problem solving, and developing CIP procedures, SOP's, and GMP standards. Recommend and implement solutions to improve product quality, production capacity, system efficiencies, and product reliability. Assess whether current technologies and procedures are properly understood and applied. Identify skill deficiencies within the organization and provide training to correct the deficiencies. Regular attendance required. Must interact cordially with co-workers.
