  • Danone North America is looking for a Plant Human Resources Director in our Mount Crawford, Virginia manufacturing facility. The Plant Human Resources Director will support a flagship manufacturing operation in the Harrisonburg Metropolitan Area of Virginia. Our Mt. Crawford Plant, is a unionized facility comprised of over 500 team members and is the largest manufacturing operation in Danone North America. Position Summary
Build strategic organizational capability across the business and collaborate with plant business leaders and HR COEs to support and lead site labor & employee relations, recruitment, talent management, culture and the facilitation of various HR programs. The Plant Human Resources Director will lead through collaboration and proximity and will serve as an ambassador for the business the point-of-contact for all plant associates and leaders.

Reporting Relationship
The Plant Human Resources Director will lead a team of HR professionals and report directly to the Labor/HR Director - South, with dotted line reporting to the Sr. Plant Director.

  • Manage complex employee relations & labor relations matters, including investigations, grievances and ethics complaints.
  • Provide support and coaching to mitigate risk for the company and ensure employee rights.
  • Lead Danone People Survey, assess culture and enhance overall employee experience and business performance.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, developing best practices and finding solutions.
  • Provide clear leadership by demonstrating an understanding of business performance, strategy, trends and needs.
  • Drive talent pipeline by forecasting and planning site needs to align with business strategy.
  • Lead annual HR Cycle for the plant, (Objective Setting, Talent Review, Mid-Year, Talent Development Plans, Annual Salary Review, etc.)


  • Bachelor degree required.
  • 5+ years of HR experience in a unionized environment required.
  • 5+ years of HR experience in an industrial environment required.
  • 5+ years of exempt level / HR Leadership experience required.
  • Minimum of 10 yrs. of progressively responsible HR experience supporting diverse client groups.
  • HR Certification: SPHR/SHRM-SCP preferred.
  • Master degree in Business, HR, Industrial Relations, or related field preferred.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Project Management experience preferred.
  • Flexibility: The ability to travel and work off-hours and/or weekends, as needed.
