Job Title: Plant Accountant

Position Summary:

The Plant Accountant will be the right hand to the plant controller. This individual will oversee general accounting operations by controller and verifying financial transactions (including what-if reporting).

The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills to support strategic business initiatives. This individual must be detail oriented down to a transaction level while also juggling competing priorities.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Reconcile invoices
  • Track inventory movements outside of normal production procedure
  • Review open GR/IR (unvouched PO receipts) monthly
  • Prepare monthly accrual for pending invoices and perform GL reclassifications as needed
  • Help prepare inventory reserve calculation
  • Through analysis identify cost savings opportunities
  • Review production statement for anomalies
  • Runs daily labor and productions reporting, analyzes variances
  • Assist plant controller with analysis and reporting
  • Reconciliation of contract labor
  • Reconciliations of balance sheets
  • Track Capex Project spend and work with HQ for in service assets
  • Assist the plant controller with annual budget process
  • Responsible for assigned monthly close tasks including, but not limited to, the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations & analytical review of the monthly financials
  • Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis and investigate issues providing explanations and interpretation

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting working in a manufacturing environment
  • Advanced experience in Microsoft Excel
Preferred:
  • Experience in Lean Six-Sigma or equivalent operational excellence program/methodology is highly desirable
  • Experience in SAP
