Manage the overall Packaging/Wrapping shift activity within the GODIVA N.A. manufacturing facility (Reading Plant) encompassing employee safety, fiscal direct labor accountability, uncompromising product quality, capital project execution, new product introductions, food safety, and employee relations. Direct all product flow activity from work-in-progress staging to the packaging of finished goods. Directly supervise hourly line leaders, approximately 50 hourly full-time and 100 temporary employees. Ensure effective communication across three shifts of Packaging operations, Processing operations, temporary employment agency representatives, and all manufacturing support functions, including Quality Assurance, Safety, Maintenance, Production Planning, etc. Contribute to Strategic Planning relating to Production at the Reading plant.
1.Insure a safe work environment for all employees, including strict adherence to the Safety Matrix
2.Produce packaged finished goods to budgeted labor targets and quality specifications and insure customer service levels
3.Perform employee relations functions pertaining to the hourly workforce
4.Fully support execution of New Product Development
5.Lead and support capital projects and productivity improvement initiatives
6.Manage compliance to GMP, HACCP, Food Safety and OCP requirements
7. Perform various administrative functions including daily scheduling, time and attendance, vacation scheduling, etc.
8.Develop labor costs for finished goods as directed and participate in the new product feasibility function
9.Fully support, and participate in Lean Manufacturing Programs
10.Evaluate and make recommendations to Packaging & Wrapper schedules to run as efficiently as possible.
11.Work with Temporary Labor Service to plan crewing of interim employees & evaluation of their performance.
Years of Relevant Experience: 5yrs
Educational Requirements: High School diploma
Must be legally authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis
Bachelor s degree in a related field

Ability to both formally and informally present to peers and management. Ability to develop logical arguments and articulate them appropriately and professionally in all situations.
Excellent analytical skills. Ability to analyze complex data and operational problems, including the ability to construct appropriate solutions to achieve desired outcomes.
Experience with executing various manufacturing techniques, including Lean Manufacturing.
Ability to participate and lead cross-functional teams to achieve a desired outcome.
Project management skills; the ability to coordinate activities, including identification, justification, selection, purchase, installation, and implementation of capital projects to achieved desired outcome.
Understanding of numerous product and packaging processes, most importantly chocolate candy manufacturing, and package assembly systems.
Strong Business Acumen
Full accountability for manufactured finished goods production on respective shift, components (40% unique single-use) against highly variable demand.
Ability to understand, comprehend, support, and execute the implementation of various manufacturing techniques, including Lean Manufacturing, in order to optimize total supply chain cost.
Accountability for ensuring the highest product quality standards are routinely met while maintaining Packaging GMPs and regulatory compliance for Packaging shift operations.
Assist in managing and maintaining a non-union work environment.
Working closely with other departments, determine and seek approval for complex Product Standard, Production Planning, Product Quality, Engineering, Product Development, Safety, and HR problems. Influence and direct others not within span of control to achieve desired outcome.
Directly supervise others responsible for Packaging line operations, including but not limited to product specific fiscal accountability, quality, project execution, safety, and personnel related issues.
Perform annual performance evaluations for Packaging Line Leaders in order to enhance Packaging operations and provide growth and enrichment for front-line supervision.
Financial labor accountability for all aspects of Packaging shift operations
Support new product launches
Participation from conception to execution in the new product development process as it relates to Packaging.
Participation in the identification, selection, purchase, installation, and implementation of all capital projects as they relate to Packaging.
Determine causes of waste (Labor, Product Loss, etc.) then develop and execute plan to reduce such waste.
Support the development and execution of the N.A. Manufacturing Strategic Plan
Plant Manufacturing and Office environment with less than 5% travel
