Reporting directly to the Training & Development Manager, the Orientation-Engagement Specialist&##39;s core responsibility is to deliver new hire orientation for the Denison IA and Harlan IA plant locations. This will include a seamless handoff of new hires into the onboarding process ensuring that all preparation, communication, coordination, and new hire orientation training is delivered on a weekly basis. A secondary focus to the core responsibilities will be plant engagement activities that are centered on such things as Team Member recognition, awards, anniversaries, and annual calendar activities promoting teamwork and culture

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Consistently execute the new hire orientation, (NHO), training and activities for multi-plant locations for all hourly team members hired on a weekly basis.
  2. Plan and coordinate all communications and logistics for weekly NHO.
  3. Communicate the weekly NHO plan with Human Resources and Operations in order to accurately prep all logistics, and to also coordinate the delivery of new Team Members to the correct shift and to the Onboarding Support Team at each plant.
  4. Serve as the primary point-of-contact for the overall orientation experience linking all departments to the process, and act as the conduit of information for weekly NHO expectations.
  5. Conduct new hire surveys/interviews and collect data that helps identify the experience of our new hires and utilize this data to improve the program.
  6. Regularly review the NHO program and seek feedback from new Team Members as well as from other internal stakeholders to determine aspects of the orientation experience that can be improved. Once improvements are identified, develop and deploy these improvements to enhance the program.
  7. Lead the Team Member of the Month/Year program at both plant locations.
  8. Serve on the plant communications committee at both plants and provide leadership with regular, planned team member engagement activities. Support the planning, coordination, communication, and execution of these activities.
  9. Lead other plant engagement activities that include team member recognition, service anniversaries, birthdays, awards, etc.

Ideal candidate will have the following qualifications

  • Associate degree in Human Resources or Business Administration, or the equivalency of 1-3 years&##39; plant manufacturing experience within Human Resources or Operations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent and effective communication skills in both verbal and written forms.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
