POSITION: Machine Operator I
REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor
Position Summary:
The Operator I is critical to the efficient operation of the Packaging and Roasting process. This individual will be responsible for performing various tasks including set up, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot assigned machines.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Comply with all safety and food safety regulations
Check production schedule at beginning of shift to determine the product description, size, and quantity of each order
Verify machine is set up to run the correct product
Must be able to pass written and hands on certification / validation testing
Must be able to troubleshoot and identify issues with machine
Able to lift film, cartons, cases, etc., which may weigh up to 50 lbs.
Must possess good communication skills
Be capable of assisting in machine changeovers and minor maintenance
Must maintain a clean work environment
Notifies Maintenance, Supervisor and/or your Team Leader of any repairs or adjustments that are required.
Understands, observes, and complies with the handling and usage of the color-coded container policy.
Informs Management personnel of ANY food safety or quality issues or of any processes which become noncompliant with specified requirements.
Identifies and records any problems relating to food safety and the quality of the ingredients, processes, quality system, or safety system.
Qualifications:
Mechanical skills
Have basic computer knowledge
Effective communication
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Able to multi-task
Previous machine operator experience preferred
Must be able to work any shift
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift 50 lbs. shoulder level.
Constant standing and walking.
Frequent bending and stooping.
