Operations Manager

I) Responsible for

  • All production related issues.
  • Compliance with the procedures, specifications and GMP.
  • Production in an effective way to ensure that production goals are met:
    • Minimize waste
    • Maximize output
    • In compliance with quality and sanitation guidelines
    • In compliance with safety laws and company safety policies and procedures
  • Reporting and tracking waste, downtime, output and productivity for all production related departments
  • Establishing and monitoring KPIs
  • Analyzing root causes and implementing corrective actions as needed
  • Production personnel and looks that hygiene and GMP standards are met and at the same time create a satisfying and fulfilling work environment
  • Developing operational procedures and assures implementation and proper training is provided.
  • Evaluating production employee performance and attendance
  • Training of production employees in cooperation with the Quality Manager to enhance the employees’ spectrum of capabilities and the support of their performance
  • Respecting federal and state laws, as well as company policies in relation to production staff employment
  • Maintenance, good functioning of machinery and all plant amenities
  • Reporting all anomalies in machinery.
  • The production planning, in committee with the VP of Sales, in compliance with existing orders and inventory levels needed.
  • Assisting in creating and implementing continuous improvement plans for plant production
    • Preparation and presentation of improvement plans for the production.
  • Reporting all risks and or threats in relation with staff, machines, procedures, and premises.
  • Responsible for monitoring and maintaining compliance status of the wastewater pretreatment

II) Competences/Authority

  • Organize and manage production staff.
  • Ordering maintenance and/or repair work
  • End decision in evaluation of production staff
  • End decision in execution of production planning

III) Function qualification

  • A Bachelor’s degree with experience in production or operations management. (Food Industry and Dairy experience preferred)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft software (Office)
  • Entrepreneurial spirit
  • Hands on personality
  • Goal and task oriented, accountable
  • People manager
  • Team Player
  • Lean experience (is a plus)
