The National Cherry Growers and Industries Foundation (commonly called simply as NCGIF) is a nonprofit corporation formed in 1948 for the purpose of having a unified effort from the processed cherry industry to lobby against excessive cherry imports. It then evolved that assessments were used for promotion of maraschino, canned, and frozen cherries.
The foundation collects contributions from the states of Oregon, Washington, California, Michigan, and Utah, most of which is passed through to professional promotional agencies.
