National Accounts Executive – Remote

We are seeking a National Accounts Executive for our Bulk Ingredient business. This person will be responsible for supporting company’s operations by developing national bulk sales strategies and meeting the needs of external customers by building and maintaining key account relationships, identifying strategic business opportunities and delivering solutions, interacting with brand teams and key cross-functional stakeholders to create product specific pricing. Part of a team that is focused on coordinating, planning and driving efficiencies and synergies of a central service function in order to maximize and leverage core competencies and best practices.


  • Involved in creating and implementing strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals
  • Develop, prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly and annual sales plans and forecasts detailing concepts and actions needed to achieve business growth opportunities consistent with the company’s growth objectives
  • Maintain sales volume, product mix and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators and competitors
  • Maintain relationships with clients by providing support, information and guidance, research and recommendations for strategies that will meet their needs and improve sales performance
  • Monitor territorial aging; assist in the assessment of any current or potential customer’s credit worthiness and ability to pay outstanding balances
  • Review market analyses to determine customer needs, and suggests price schedules, and discount rates
  • Direct channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing distributor quotas and goals
  • Advise distributors and clients concerning sales and advertising programs
  • Analyze sales statistics to suggest policy and assist distributors in promoting sales
  • Represent company at trade association meetings to promote company name, brands and product sales
  • Maintain face-to-face contact with top twenty-five customers a minimum of once each calendar year
  • Assist colleagues within the organization to prepare manuals and technical publications
  • Monitor local wholesaler inventory levels to assure adequate inventories of products to meet customer requirements
  • Stay abreast of competitive industry and market intelligence and provide feedback in this area to Sales Leadership
  • Ensure compliance with all governmental regulations, state and federal laws, and ALUSA policies and procedures
  • Undertake special projects as deemed necessary to fulfill company goals and as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or graduate degree preferred
  • 5+ years demonstrated experience in field sales or national account management preferably within
    • Sports Nutrition – Highly Preferred
    • Carnitine Ingredient – Highly Preferred
    • Food & nutrition industrial ingredients into manufacturing partners / co-manufacturers

of sports nutrition companies

  • High level of leadership, interpersonal and collaborative skills, flexibility to meet the customer’s demands
  • Strong negotiation, analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to think strategically and develop innovative solutions
  • Strategic planning, project management, budgeting and financial management skills
  • Intermediate knowledge & application of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Ability to communicate with impact, verbally and in writing with all levels of management
  • Results oriented, self-organized and self-starter, proven track record of results
  • Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional matrix environment
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Requires significant national travel up to 50% must possess valid US driver’s license and acceptable driving record
