As a member of our retail sales team, you ll work closely with Johnsonville s marketing and category management teams to develop and deliver consumer insights and category reviews that help our customers be successful. You ll also work with our broker partners to make sure that sales strategies are fully and effectively executed, from headquarters to the retail stores. National Account Manager

Position Overview:

Johnsonville offers the highest quality products throughout the U.S. and International markets. As a National Account Manager on our retail sales team, you ll be able to impact the success of the business through leadership and management of the Kroger team. Kroger is one of Johnsonville s top accounts. Your responsibility includes leading the CFT team as well as making Kroger Corporate headquarters calls and manage a national broker network. You will also play a key role in development of Johnsonville brand strategies and tactics across the total business.


  • Lead cross-functional team (reset team)
  • Lead the development and organizational alignment of the largest accounts at Johnsonville
  • Own the strategy, development and execution of both national and regional strategic annual plans
  • Define what great looks like for sales and market share growth targets while collaborating with insights partners
  • Create and partner with key customer departments for innovation incubation and product launches
  • Collaborate with regional sales teams to accomplish core market specific goals
  • Impact national pricing trends through customer collaboration and internal pricing teams helping define annual pricing strategies influenced by market pressures
  • Create success and deliver Highest Impact on Customre Success.
  • Develop and build relationships throughout the organizations, including but not limited to Category Managers, Buyers, Ecomm teams and Executives at all levels
  • Create innovative programs and promotions that drive trial and awareness
  • Execute new item and innovation initiatives that achieve distribution objectives
  • Have P & L responsibility for Kroger
  • Gain, solidify, and maintain distribution across all Johnsonville categories
  • Develop and manage Broker relationships
  • Use fact-based selling and strategic planning that results in market share growth


  • Bachelor s degree required


  • Minimum of seven years sales experience in consumer-packaged goods, direct experience in food sales is a definite plus along with strategic retailer account experience
  • Experience building new and existing relationships with key customers required including those above the buyer level
  • Proven experience substantially building a business with P&L responsibility and Trade Promotion Management experience
  • Experience with syndicated data (Nielsen or IRI, Retail Link, 84.51-Kroger Data, Consumer Insights, etc.) required
  • Experience with shopper marketing or other marketing background a plus
  • Broker Management experience required

Skills and Competencies:

  • Superior strategic and tactical business planning skills
  • Excellent communication skills including negotiation and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Team skills--ability to lead, work with, share ideas and assist other members to ensure the success of the team

Other Requirements:

  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 30%
