The Specialist position displays a high degree of professionalism in representing our brand as a counselor to our customers in bakery/Deli merchandising.This position plays a major role in educating the retailer on programs that drive same store sales to attain maximum profitability.The Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing promotions and merchandising programs for long term success. All specialists are cross trained to serve the member store in total store operations but the primary focus for this position is bakery/deli merchandising.
This is a developmental role and will be given the opportunity for promotion in the near future.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop Promotional Plans to achieve budgeted sales.
Manage Department Expenses to achieve budget
Work with procurement on product mix and pricing
Negotiate Deals with local vendors and sales reps to drive incremental sales
Provide timely ad information on key ad groups
Provide clean up of excess inventory
Plan and execute Food Show Events
Make recommendations on promotional spending
Manage Department Employees
Manage Sales Reps
Manage Department Assistants
Provide a vision for the department
Provide training for growth and development
Provide accurate and timely performance reviews
Participate in weekly staff meetings and corporate department conference calls.
Stay current on industry trends by attending trade shows
