Summary

Operate in a safe and organized environment with limited supervision to diagnose and perform scheduled and preventive maintenance on potato equipment, tillage, tractors, and trucks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Under limited supervision, work with the farm team to support the daily operations of a busy agricultural shop.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and perform scheduled and preventive maintenance on trucks, tractors, and assorted farm equipment.
  • Operate farm equipment as needed.
  • Ensure a safe work environment and an organized shop. Focus on continuous improvement through a preventive maintenance schedule.

Typical Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; minimum of one year experience or equivalent training from a trade school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Relevant Experience

Knowledge of potato equipment preferred, as well as metal fabrication, electrical and hydraulic systems. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and service manuals.

Other Information

Basic knowledge of computer operations. Must be able to use a micrometer, dial indicator gauges, and other work related tools.

Work days will include some evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on business need and schedule.
