Job Description

  • Will work in conjunction with the R&D Department to develop new and innovative Products.

  • Will work closely with the Master Baker, Production Engineer, VP of Sales and other Executive Management and Bakery Executive Management teams as well as the Production Management Team.
  • Will use knowledge and initiative to improve product quality, ingredient approvals, production efficiencies, bake qualifications and product training.

  • Will be responsible for the development of new product and line extensions.
  • Work with the other members of R&D and Production to ensure that mass production runs smoothly.
  • Work closely with the Sales and Marketing Departments on product innovations and product sampling. May participate in customer presentations.
  • Assist in preparing food costs for new product development.
  • Develop working specifications for new product development.
  • Partner with the other teams during production ramp up.
  • May also assist in the sourcing of new ingredients as well as working closely with the Production Team in the sourcing of equipment as well.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Culinary Arts (heavy concentration in pastry), and 5 years minimum experience in R&D.
  • Large scale manufacturing experience a must.
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines as well as multi-task.
  • Ability to trouble-shoot, analyze, document and problem solve.
  • Food Safety and Sanitation certified.
