This full time, permanent Manufacturing Process Improvement Engineer career opportunity is at a growing, flexible, employee-orientated and family-oriented manufacturer. The company believes in a work/life balance and has great respect for the personal time of the employees. Employees love working here and as a result, average employee tenure is almost 20 years.

Engineers are able to make long-term changes to the business and are given a lot of latitude. Engineers do not have to deal with red tape and can push ideas through to a working completion. The engineering group is intelligent and motivated. Engineers are self-directed but are also collaborative and able to bounce ideas off the group. Engineers are not stuck at their desk and are very hands on the majority of the time. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Looking at existing production processes and creating improvements
  • Working with a variety of people on the shop floor the majority of the time
  • Getting shop floor employees on board with potential improvements
  • Trying try new ideas and learning from any resulting mistakes
  • Aiding in new robotic cell set-up

The background of the successful candidate will include the following:

  • Four year engineering degree
  • Magma experience
  • One or more years of castings / foundry experience
  • Ability to look at a process and come up with improvement opportunities
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Ability to work well individually and as part of a group
  • Ability to be on the shop floor the majority of the time
  • CAD experience

The preferred but not required background includes any of the following:

  • Solidworks experience
  • Magma experience
  • GD&T experience
  • 6 Sigma experience
