Manager Quality Food Safety – Regulatory Compliance

This role is part of the Quality and Food Safety Excellence (QFSE) Function. Reporting to the Vice President of QFSE – this role has accountability for the compliance of the company products, processes, and facilities to regulatory requirements about Food Safety and Quality and Compliance.

  • Serve as a business partner to QFSE, R&D and Operations – the primary contact for technical expertise regarding Food Safety, Quality regulations
  • Identify all current and impending regulatory requirements that impact the company operations (domestic and international and products. Stay abreast of developments in the regulatory landscape
  • Work with stakeholders to develop processes to ensure compliance to all applicable regulatory requirements. Work with QFSE partners to drive implementation. Maintain all company and facility food safety relate regulatory permits and approvals
  • Develop KPIs and evaluate metrics data to assess and verify the robustness of the company compliance and report or escalate to stakeholders
  • Verify and approve product specifications (especially graphics/labels) as part of the product development process. Provide regulatory guidance/expertise for label claims
  • Develop and drive continuous improvement in the company quality management system (QMS) – specifically the systems, processes and capabilities involved in ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Assess the need for and develop or identify appropriate tools and training to grow the company capabilities for management of Quality Food Safety Compliance
  • Develop and maintain internal and external network of experts to support regulatory compliance
  • Provide technical support and solutions as needed for situations for challenges involving compliance to Quality and Food safety requirements

Technical Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in a field that ensures a high level of understanding of Food Science & food safety concepts and quality management in food products
  • Prefer someone from a corporate setting
  • Labeling and substantiating label claims is one of the keys to the role
