This full-time, permanent, hands on, leadership role as a Manager of Manufacturing for Metal Fabrication is at a start-to-finish material processing industry leader. The company has been in business for 70 years and is growing rapidly. The company has great benefits, a small structure and a family feel. The duties and responsibilities of the successful candidate includes the following:

  • Managing the fabrication of metal products
  • Being "hands on" on the shop floor
  • Planning / scheduling manufacturing employees, equipment and materials
  • Participating in developing and implementing plans to increase production output by 100% via additions and improvements
  • Overseeing quality, health, safety, performance, and behavior
  • Maximizing productivity, quality, and safety by updating production methods
  • Estimating and controlling costs / budgets
  • Getting involved with lean processes, KPIs, as the company is just getting into that area
  • Getting involved with formal SOPS as the company is just getting into that area

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Four or more years of "hands on" management experience with metal fabrication (not a supervisor)
  • Ability to develop the team
  • Ability to know what and when to order material
  • Familiarity with machines
  • Scheduling ability
  • A steady work history that is free of gaps in employment
  • Four or more years of responsibility for employees, work production, quality, process changes, and training
  • A four year degree in Business, Management, Engineering, or Production (or additional experience in lieu of a degree)
  • Ability to determine orders for materials required in the fabrication process
  • Production processes and techniques knowledge and experience
  • Formal quality program implementation knowledge
  • Ability to spend significant time on the shop floor
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to adapt to changes
