Mountaire Farms is a vertically integrated agricultural company headquartered in Millsboro, DE. As part of this growth, we are searching for a dynamic and innovative new member to join our team in both Lumber Bridge and Siler City, North Carolina, as a Management Trainee. During this comprehensive program, trainees will learn Mountaire Farms operating systems from raw material sourcing through product processing and distribution to our external customers. They will learn and be exposed to the vertical integration in its entirety. Trainees will be challenged throughout the process to perform on-the-job tasks, complete assignments, demonstrate learning mastery, develop and demonstrate Situational Leadership competencies and gain a working knowledge of the operational excellence required in each facet of the organization. Through this program, trainees gain knowledge and experience required for promotion to management positions under the direction of experienced personnel by performing the duties listed below.

Position Responsibilities Include:

The trainee takes initiative and responsibility for his or her own success. The demonstrated commitment by the trainee to achieve results is central to taking full advantage of the Management Trainee Program opportunity. The trainee is expected to display the high degree of professionalism and meet the following responsibilities:

  • Meet and exceed learning objectives in an effective, efficient manner
  • Review learning objectives with each area manager on the first day and last day of each area assignment
  • Complete projects as required in a high-quality, timely basis
  • Actively participate in progress reviews
  • Demonstrate a professional approach to work at all times
  • Maintain a positive attitude
  • Demonstrate a problem-solving, creative approach to challenges and obstacles
  • Build mutual understanding and respect among individuals and across all areas of the business
  • Learn department, line and staff functions, operations, management viewpoints, company policies and procedures that affect each phase of the business
  • Observe experienced workers to acquire knowledge of methods, processes, procedures, and standards required for performance of departmental duties


Bachelors degree in Animal Science, Poultry Science, Food Science, Management or related majors.
