Job Summary:

A senior maintenance mechanic supports the maintenance department. This position is under the direction of the maintenance manager, and would be responsible for performing duties to repair and maintain machinery, equipment, building and facilities requiring a broad knowledge of maintenance skills. The senior maintenance mechanics are viewed as an active supporter of lean and preventative maintenance systems. This position is also responsible for assigning work orders and auditing completed work.

Reporting Relationship:

Reports to the Maintenance Manager; takes direction from the Lead Maintenance Mechanic.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, repair, rebuild, adjust and maintain machinery and equipment used in production which may also involve the dismantling, inspection, machining or replacement of purchased parts.
  • Perform various activities relative to the installation and relocation of existing machines and equipment.

Job Qualifications:

  • 5+ years&##39; experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience and technical expertise in hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical and electrical drive/ control systems relating to production and facilities equipment maintenance.
  • Experience with preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Strong mechanical/electrical DWG interpretation skills used to trouble-shoot equipment is required.
  • PLC and PC control system experience is preferred but not required.
  • Be able to work efficiently with minimal supervision and have good organizational skills.
  • Having an understanding or be willing to learn Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Ability to work required shift, meet attendance requirements, and work overtime when required.
  • Ability to wear and communicate with a radio
  • Ability to walk short distances.
  • Ability to hear sound alerts of equipment.
  • Considerable mental and visual effort.
