Summary Description

This position will be responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment. This includes mechanical, preventative and predictive maintenance on pumps, valves, motors, gearboxes, conveying systems, repair and troubleshooting of malfunctioning electrical or instrumentation systems and the recalibration of instruments paying attention to OSHA Safety Rules, Food Safety Policies and Company Regulations.




Responsibilities

Production

Perform mechanical duties such as pumps, valves, conveyor work, sprockets, gearboxes, etc.

Production

Calibrate all plant instrumentation in a wide variety of makes and types of specifications (i.e. temperature, flow, pH, vacuum, pressure, level load cells, Foxboro, Honeywell, E&H, etc.).

Production

Work with industrial electricity (motor controls) to troubleshoot and repair electrical components and machinery including 24vdc, 110vac, 220vac, 277vac and 480vac systems.

Complete Preventative/Predictive maintenance work orders.

Able to re-build equipment to manufacturers specifications.

Always perform work in a safe manner adhering to food safety guidelines.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • 2 years experience in the maintenance field; Strong Mechanical and Electrical Aptitude
  • Must be able to work all shifts, weekends and Holidays
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and follow specified procedures
  • Must be team orientated, self-motivated and communicate effectively, oral and written
  • Able to perform essential job functions of the position
  • Able to handle varying work conditions from extremely hot/humid to cold
  • Must be able to pass the Essential Job Functions Test for this position

-Pallet Waist Lift (6” to 38”) – 75 lbs. Actuator Valve, Monthly

-Vertical Ladder Climb - Daily

Preferred Qualifications

Two (2) or more years prior experience in the Dairy Industry as a maintenance technician with a strong mechanical and electrical background along with three (3) months on-the-job experience is necessary to become proficient in the maintenance of pneumatics, hydraulics, AC frequency drives, electrical controls, instrumentation, schematic reading, welding, mechanical (sprockets & gearboxes), T/S technique and PLC knowledge.
