My client is actively interviewing qualified candidates for the position of Maintenance Technician at their Harrisburg, PA food manufacturing facility. Qualified individuals will have experienc with performing routine, predictive and preventative maintenance. They should also have experience troubleshooting issues, repairing mechanical failures of production equipment, and new equipment installation. Duties and responsibilities shall also include:

  • Respond and perform corrective, proactive and preventative maintenance on all facility equipment and infrastructure is primary to this position.
  • Assemble, install, test and repair motor controls of all kinds such as starters, stop and start buttons, relays, timers, panels, circuit breakers and transformers.
  • Ability to trouble-shoot electrical controls (motor circuits, machinery and programmable controllers) using drawings, documentation and required tools such as computers, volt-meters, ammeters, volt meters, ohmmeters and other electrical testing equipment.
  • Be able to use all hand tools necessary to the trade and have a working knowledge of the materials in the work area and their applications.
  • Install and connect all types of wiring, conduit and apparatuses.
  • Identify faulty equipment through observation and testing metrics.
  • Source replacement parts and perform repairs.
  • Maintain parts and tools inventory.
  • Prepare maintenance reports and summary presentations using daily activity logs, analysis and trends.
  • Maintain electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics and mechanical knowledge via on-going training, industry workshops and technical reading.
  • Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
  • Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
  • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
  • Perform all work in a safe manner following all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management.
  • Expected to adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained in order to maintain BRC certification. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
