Dip into This Role
  • Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor will function as an asset manager, technical resource, and motivational leader for a maintenance shift team.
  • Responsible for all maintenance functions to include team management, task planning and assignment, equipment repair, troubleshooting, quality assurance, schedule adherence and work follow-up.
  • Responsible to prioritize, schedule, coordinate, and implement planned and emergency maintenance activities on assigned shift.
  • Takes the head leadership position for the maintenance department on assigned shift and will be responsible and accountable for all maintenance personnel and activities during assigned shift.
  • Responsible for appropriate analysis and estimating of maintenance services and operational needs in a logical manner to maximize staff, cost and material resources.
  • Facilitates methodical troubleshooting approaches utilizing Lean and Six Sigma tools including 5 Why, Root Cause Analysis and Failure Analysis.
  • Is a key player in the advancement of Reliability Centered Maintenance, Preventive Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance, and training/development for the technical organization
  • Must deal courteously and effectively with individuals from all manufacturing departments including staff, vendors, contractors, operators, craft workers, and supervisors.

Recipe for Success
  • 4 Year Technical Degree (BS is Engineering, Food Science, or Supply Chain/Operations preferred)
  • 1-3 years experience in a manufacturing role; experience with maintenance responsibilities preferred
  • Experience working in a team environment; Supervisory experience a plus
  • Knowledge with the following: maintenance crafts and trades, preventative and predictive maintenance, reliability maintenance and mechanical integrity
  • Technical understanding of manufacturing equipment including but not limited to process equipment (rotating and non-rotating - pumps, valves, tanks, heat exchangers, conveyors) and packaging equipment (fillers, labelers, case-packers, cartoners, x-ray)
  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Fundamental understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment, systems and troubleshooting
  • Must speak clearly and effectively to give oral instructions, answer questions, explain work-related information, prepare reports, memos and presentations to all levels of plant personnel.
  • Requires use of a PC for document control, communication, staff management, and proper presentation of information utilizing Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
