MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

YOUR CONTRIBUTION

Reporting directly to the Production Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor will focus on the maintenance of Gwillimdale production equipment and facilities while demonstrating sound mechanical aptitude. The successful candidate will be a team player with the ability to work both independently and within a team environment.

Communication Skills: The ability to interact frequently with fellow employees, department managers and senior management through various forms of communication.

Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to quickly assess a situation and be decisive in solving it, such as identifying defects in the production line. Research and solve problems.

Time Management Skills: The ability to manage time in a professional manner and prioritize tasks in order of importance.

Technical Skills: Sound Mechanical Skills required. Welding/brazing knowledge is an asset. Knowledge of the agricultural industry standards and procedures are an asset.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintenance

  • Assist in general plant equipment maintenance, preventing possible failures and malfunctions.
  • Assist in developing preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
  • Analyze repairs and troubleshoot to find root issues.
  • Provide assistance in handling emergency maintenance and repair work of plant equipment.
  • Maintain the maintenance tools and equipment in safe, clean and good working conditions.
  • Strive to maintain a clean, safe and organized work area.

Record keeping

  • Maintain complete records of daily maintenance activities.
  • Assist co-workers when needed.
  • Adhering to company policies and safety regulations.
  • Ad-hoc duties / requests as required.

WORK EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years’ experience in the Maintenance industry specific to mechanic equipment.

  • High school diploma or technical certification.
  • Strong organizational, entrepreneurial, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with many different departments, and with all levels of management and staff to assist everyone in achieving their goals.

WORK CONDITIONS

  • Comfortable working at heights and in tight spaces.
  • Personal protective equipment required in plant (i.e. steel toe boots, hair net/beard net).
  • Comfortable kneeling, bending, reaching, twisting and/or standing for periods.
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs.

ROTATING MONTHLY WORK SCHEDULE BETWEEN 2 MAINTENANCE TECHNICIANS

  • 6:30am -6:30pm Monday / Tuesday / Wednesday
  • 6:30 am – 6:30 pm Thursday / Friday / Saturday
