Position Overview

The Maintenance Manager provides leadership and overall direction to the maintenance team, the maintenance and repair of all plant equipment.

Essential Job Functions

  • Manages the performance of maintenance employees.
  • Responsible for the overall maintenance and repair of all plant equipment.
  • Responsible for the preventative maintenance program and schedules to ensure that critical equipment and machinery are properly maintained.
  • Sets work priorities and schedules for maintenance and repair.
  • Allocates line mechanics for all packaging rooms for current operations hours.
  • Oversee maintenance team conducting all change overs in packaging/bagging rooms.
  • Reviews production schedule with maintenance team to ensure timely start up/change overs for all processing and packaging rooms.
  • Supports Company polices for OSHA, HACCP, SQF and other governmental regulations.
  • Establish routine, open two-way communication with production supervisors and managers to obtain feedback on equipment and machinery performance.
  • Responsible for maintaining lock-out/tag-out procedures, safety committee meetings, etc.
  • Acts as a resource to management in providing daily safety information.
  • Repair electrical problems relating to motor control systems, frequency drives, PLC’s, sensors, temperature probes, motors,
  • Perform electrical and mechanical PM’s and other work orders as assigned.
  • Perform repairs, upgrades and installations of electrical and mechanical systems including motor control centers, PLC’s, and sensors.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose hydraulic and pneumatic systems along with the ability to read and follow schematics.
  • Ability to weld.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Troubleshoot existing equipment for failures, change or modify machines to improve efficiency
  • Knowledge of motors, gearboxes, reducers and conveyors to include troubleshooting, repair/maintenance and installation.

  • Minimum 5+ years mechanical and electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in food manufacturing is strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of PLC’s frequency drives, motor controls, instrumentation
  • Must be able to read and comprehend ladder logic, electrical schematics, procedures and manuals
