Corsicana, TX (1 hr outside of Dallas, TX)

1st shift; M-F

10 Paid holidays + 2 Floating Days; 2-3 weeks’ vacation

Duties and Responsibilities: Listed in order, ranking the most essential duties first. Essential functions are primary job duties that are intrinsic to the position.

  • Responsible for all activities that encourage safe and consistent operation of machinery in and around the plant.
  • Develop, implement and follow-up plans to accomplish departmental goals and objectives.
  • Direct supervision of Maintenance Supervisors.
  • Conduct annual performance appraisals for supervisors.
  • Perform safety and sanitation audits and participate as an active member in the safety, quality and food safety committees.
  • Conduct training sessions for the department employees as needed.
  • Purchase all materials required for the operation of the department including safety equipment.
  • Monitor and ensure work order system operates effectively (ensure safety, food safety and other operational work orders are addressed promptly). Manage maintenance metrics as developed such as MTBF, MTTR, by line first and then by equipment in order to track maintenance effectiveness.
  • Ensure equipment performs in a safety manner and complies with all the OSHA regulations.
  • Collaborate in the development of the department budget and productivity parameters twice per year.
  • Develop and implement improvements and changes in the work instructions, job descriptions and training needs.
  • Keep employees informed on factors relating to their work assignment, work progress, and opportunity for advancement.
  • Responsible to maintain and improve the preventive maintenance program and ensures the preventive maintenance scheduled is followed accordingly
  • Responsible to ensure all plant equipment is properly maintained per manufacturer recommendations and in accordance with the preventive maintenance schedule
  • Responsible to modify and/or suggest modifications to the equipment upon management approval, to improve its overall performance, safety or food safety operation.
  • Ensure the building is properly maintained
  • Train mechanics and production personnel in troubleshooting techniques and equipment operation.
  • Establish and maintain productivity standards.
  • Gives instruction to subordinates, communicates results from goals and objectives.
  • Develops and maintains a positive, respectful work environment.
  • May perform additional duties as assigned.
