Job Requirements / Qualifications:

  1. Food Manufacturing Experience (5 years)
  2. 5+ years Maintenance Management experience required.
  3. Bachelor degree in Engineering Technical discipline
  4. Experience in a TPM environment preferred.
  5. Prior experience as Engineering Supervisor or extensive plant maintenance required.
  6. Experience working with a CMMS; SOMAX preferred
  7. Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
  8. Demonstration of strong leadership and interpersonal skills working with cross functional teams.
  9. Strong computer application skills, including the utilization of network and PC business application software.
  10. Demonstrated critical thinking and judgment skills.
  11. Food industry and experience in a union environment preferred
  12. Must possess/maintain a valid license to operate applicable equipment.
  13. Physically capable of moving to all areas of the plant. Must be capable of reaching, bending, stooping, climbing, pushing and pulling as required in a production operation.
  14. Climb ladders, crawl under equipment and work in tight spaces.
  15. View product and determine adherence to quality control standards including size, shape, color, cut, etc.
  16. Distinguish operating lights and panels on machinery and equipment.
  17. Ability to identify audible alarm systems as well as normal and abnormal equipment operating sounds.
  18. Generate written and verbal communications clearly and distinctly.
  19. Read and review written communication, blue prints, wiring diagrams schematics etc.



  1. Works collaboratively with Plant Leadership, Corporate Management and Engineering to develop technical strategies that deliver safety, environmental, energy, maintenance, OEE and other continuous improvement programs that improve the Plant’s performance.
  2. Drives specific continuous improvement to support plant and corporate business objectives.
  3. Ensures that all manufacturing and facility systems are properly resourced and that all resources are efficiently utilized.
  4. Develop and maintain work order system (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
  5. Directs maintenance and engineering staff regarding their roles and responsibilities to meet plant objectives in safety, environmental, quality, cost and customer service.
  6. Develop necessary technical support for efficient troubleshooting / problem solving activities and maintenance repair to maximize efficiencies and minimize downtime.
  7. Provide leadership and support in implementing / maintaining preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  8. Leverage project management development processes to ensure projects are fully scoped, cost estimates and execution strategies and project schedules are provided for review and alignment with project stakeholders.
  9. Leverage tools such as simple root cause, breakdown analysis, and other FI tools to resolve recurring operational issues.
  10. Facilitate mandatory inspections and coordinate certifications with appropriate regulatory authorities.
  11. Drive employee engagement, training and development to maximize manufacturing, quality, safety, and productivity goal attainment.
  12. Effectively communicate results and action plans to employees and managers.
  13. Collaborate with HR to ensure employee issues or concerns are correctly addressed and resolved.
  14. Collaborate with Finance to create and execute a maintenance and capital budget to ensure financial allocations and obligations are set, administered and met.
  15. Leads the development of the plant capital plan – both annual and long range strategy.
  16. Ensures all plant engineering operations are conducted in a safe and controlled environment.
  17. Ensures all quality and regulatory standards, specifications and policies are met or exceeded.

  19. Responsible for the implementation of the lock-out/Tag-out program
  20. Responsible for overseeing the Department GMP policies
  21. Maintains Safety record keeping
  22. Monitors building safety and security
  23. Sanitation
  24. Ensures proper GMP’s are followed at all times
  25. Maintains safety work log
  26. Maintains membership on Safety Committee 


Job Description

  1. Develop and implement overall plant technical strategies and tactics focused on engineering projects, maintenance systems, and improvement programs
  2. Supervise activities of engineering, ensure that plant facilities and equipment are properly maintained
  3. Ensure uninterrupted production schedules according to standards and develop early management and vertical start-up processes to ensure implementation of low loss production systems both projects related and routine production changeovers/startups.
