Summary:

The Maintenance Controls Specialist position is responsible for performing predictive, preventative and corrective maintenance on all equipment in the manufacturing facility with advanced level of trouble shooting electrical, electronic, and automation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complete weekly WO schedule consisting of PMs, Correctives, and Projects.
  • Evaluate new and existing systems for development, maintenance, and modifications.
  • Monitor and improve PLC programing/interfacing, and graphical user interfacing.
  • Assist with specification and integration of controlled devices on equipment.
  • Monitor and update electrical schematics.
  • Document activities in CMMS system daily.
  • Assist mechanics and stay involved with technical issues on the floor.
  • Teach technical areas such as PLCs, controls, and relay logic.
  • Complete calibration of scale equipment.
  • Complete validation of coding equipment.
  • Develop relations with vendors and support services.
  • Maintain your own general electrical and mechanical tools. .

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education/Certifications:

  • Prefer an associate degree or a certificate in related trades.
  • Prefer an Electrical Journeyman’s License or a License in a related field.

Experience:

  • Must have 3 – 5 years of experience in food production environment.
  • Must have 5 – 7 years of experience in industrial manufacturing.
  • Must have Allen Bradley PLC experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to work all shifts.
  • Must be proficient in motor controls and relay logic.
  • Must be proficient in developing and troubleshooting PLC’s.
  • Must be proficient in equipment automation.
  • Must be proficient in a CMMS system.
  • Must have a strong background working with electrical measuring devices.
  • Must be proficient in N.E.C. codes.
  • Must have the ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Must have an excellent mechanical background.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Fill in as shift point/lead in absence of supervisor.
  • Take point/lead on maintenance projects and process of improvement

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

  • Work involves daily exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, darkness, and/or noise. Seasonal exposure to weather elements to include, but not limited to, extreme temperatures, wetness and humidity.
  • Work environment involves daily exposure to physical risks, such as working around mechanical equipment, forklifts, chemical hazards, and electrical hazards.
  • Position requires the ability to stand; walking around office and plant; lifting and carrying packages up to 50 pounds; utilizing fine dexterity; and reaching, kneeling, crawling and twisting on a daily basis. Also requires the ability to see; hear; and communicate with associates as well as others by utilizing professional etiquette.
  • Personal protective equipment, as defined by C.H. Guenther and Sons will be provided.
