Lubrication Specialist in OK

Position Summary

The Lubrication Specialist is responsible for the lubrication duties of several work teams. This includes the Shift Technicians, E&I, Mechanical, and Reliability Teams. This position will be part of the Mechanic Group and will support the reliability efforts of the Maintenance Department through their lubrication PMs, MTCE orders, and oil sampling and testing efforts.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• The Lubrication Specialist will be responsible for the lube storage building upkeep as well as being responsible for maintaining the auto lubricators used throughout the plant. This position will require good mechanical knowledge and experience. The successful bidder will be expected to survey and troubleshoot equipment while making lubrication rounds and be able to identify equipment problems using a vibration pen, Ultrasound Detector, Infrared thermometer, stroboscope, and stethoscope. They will need the knowledge to fix mechanical problems, examples are leaks and rotating equipment replacement. Anything other issues will need to be written up in SAP as a notification for repair. This position will make equipment rounds daily of critical equipment as needed. This position will be required to enter both histories found on equipment as well as the time taken on the equipment. Therefore, this position will require computer Literacy and knowledge in the PM module within SAP or have used similar maintenance management systems before the tracking and execution of work orders. The Lubrication Specialist must have enough knowledge to provide feedback and improvements on the lubrication routes.
• Works independently to complete assigned work tasks and to monitor and operate equipment Most of the work in this role will be done without any assistance. Most of the work in this role will be done without any assistance. The person in this role must be a self-motivated individual and willing to take ownership of the lubrication program.
• Works in varying environmental conditions. May be required to work for several hours at a time in temperatures ranging from below freezing to more than 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Walks/stands upon a variety of surfaces. There are a variety of surfaces on which Technicians are required to work, including concrete, gravel, metal grating, and diamond-plated stairways and walkways. These surfaces can, at times, be slippery.
• The Lubrication Specialist will occasionally assist mechanics as determined by the Mechanic Maintenance Supervisor
• The successful candidate that is awarded this role will be provided the training to be successful in the role. This position will have a six-month probationary period with set goals that must be met to remain in this position after the probationary period has been completed. A test will be taken at the end of the probationary period to certify and approve the candidate

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Lube Technician Certifications required – Level I and Level II Machinery Lubrication Technician (MLT)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a Lube Technician position or duty
• Minimum 2 years industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
• Must be able to read and write and must possess competence in basic mathematics.
• Must be physically capable of performing the duties of the position.
• Must have demonstrated the ability to learn to perform the duties of the position within 6 months of assignment.
• Computer Literacy
• Must possess competence in basic mathematics
• Ability to work independently or in pairs to repair and/or replace equipment

• Industrial Mechanical Technician associate degree is a plus
