The Lead Product Inspector is responsible to assist the Warehouse and Operations Managers in guiding and
leading the inspectors in the performance of quality audits to ensure that product meets USDA/CFIA Grade
Standards, Company Specifications and customer requirements. The Lead Product Inspector is the
designated subject matter expert who is available to answer questions, train new auditors and assume the lead
role in the quality auditor group. The Lead Product Inspector is responsible to perform quality audits in
accordance with the Company Quality Audit Program.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Assists the Warehouse and Operations Managers in the execution and performance of quality objectives
and goals by communicating and demonstrating desired expectations to the quality audit group.
• Helps in the training process with new quality auditors.
• Performs quality audits according to the Mastronardi Produce Quality Audit Program using established
acceptance criteria outlined in Mastronardi Product Specifications, USDA/CFIA grade standards, audit
check-sheets and Food Safety guidelines. Decides whether product meets criteria, which includes color,
size, condition and weight of produce and accepts/rejects appropriately.
• Prepares audit reports and non-conformance reports using objective evidence collected.
• Conducts the required number of audits to meet the Quality Department objectives.
• Reports non-conformance findings to responsible department manager/supervisor.
• Verifies that action was taken to correct the non-conformance, when appropriate.
• Actively supports efforts to achieve and maintain SQF (Food Safety and Quality) certification.

Education/Background Requirements:
• High school diploma required, college degree is preferred.
• Previous related work experience required, product experience preferred.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
• Inspection/audit experience or knowledge of quality systems, HACCP, ISO 9001, GMP, etc considered an
asset
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to use and read measuring devices such as scales, calipers, ruler
• Proficient in MS Office

Working Conditions:
• Combination of office (80%) and refrigerated warehouse (20%) environment.
• Must be capable of lifting up to 30 lbs.
