General Purpose:

Perform general cleaning throughout the plant.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform janitorial duties, such as vacuuming, sweeping, mopping floors, emptying trash cans, and general cleaning.
  • Plant daily duties include cleaning restrooms, CIP room, clean floors, pick up debris, clean and maintain boot sprayers, clean locker rooms and remove all garbage and recycling.
  • Plant weekly duties include cleaning all windows, preparing garbage and recycle bins for weekly pick-up and pressure wash floors (weekly or as needed)
  • Lab daily duties include vacuuming, sweeping and mopping the back lab and the main lab floors.
  • Lab weekly duties include cleaning all windows and door windows. Dusting will need to be done weekly on the refrigerator, auto clave, all cabinets, racks and shelving. As well on all the countertops, walls, vent hoods, doors, ceiling vents and light fixtures.
  • Also maintain routine upkeep of smoking areas
  • Complete non-routine cleaning according to specified job orders
  • Handle emergency cleaning and upkeep requests
  • Maintain orderly and clean work area
  • Need to follow form 7435 (Facilities Cleaning Check List)
  • Dedicate effort to safety as we expect every employee to leave work in the same condition as they arrive
  • Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements
  • Exhibit the values and ethics of Dairy Farmers of America through honesty, discretion, and sound judgment
  • Adhere to all DFA Quality, Safety and GMP policies and procedures and report any nonconformity
  • Attend required training, including but not limited to, Safety, GMP, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), and Safe Quality Foods (SQF)
