As part of this growth, we are searching for a new member to join our team as a IT Database Manager at our Millsboro, DE complex. The primary purpose of the IT Data Base Manager is to provide leadership and management to the Information systems department in its charge to provide, operate, and maintain data base computing software, operating systems, equipment, and services that meet the needs of the overall organization. The position is responsible for all data base aspects of information technology management and control, capital budget preparation and management; recommendations for technical acquisitions; and development of guidelines, standards and procedures for the organization. This role is charged with strategic planning, tactical action, and operational decision-making to fulfill the mission of the IT department. The Manager must possess initiative and drive, have broad relevant technical knowledge with good management expertise and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage data base and operating systems
  • Maintain computing equipment, and services
  • Direct and guide Information Technology employees
  • Budget management and control
  • Recommend new technologies
  • Development of guidelines, standards and procedures
  • Strategic planning and tactical actions and operational decision making
  • Protect Company Assets (Data & Hardware)
  • Adhere to guidelines, standards and procedures

Qualifications include:

  • B.S. degree or M.B.A. in Business or Computer Science
  • Minimum of ten years experience in IT Data Bases
  • Minimum of two years working with Unix
  • Minimum of five years as Data Base Administrator
  • Plan, build & install large scale data base, servers & operating systems
  • Motivate highly technical team
  • Strong analytical and logical problem solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication and relational skills
  • Good organizational and project management skills
  • Sound judgment; initiative; flexibility; detail-oriented
