Relationships the Inventory Scheduler will report directly to the Cold Storage Manager and will work closely with Shift Leads. In this role, the Inventory Scheduler will be responsible for the integration reporting and of Inventory/Ticketing Clerks, Seed, Receiving and Forklift Drivers in to daily activities. Communication will be frequent among Quality Control, Sanitation, and Production departments as well.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities (as follows but not limited to:)

  • Evaluates and assigns outbound activities to assure most efficient workflow.
  • Collaborate with the Cold Storage Manager and other departmental Leads and/or Supervisors to ensure bin flow logistics are running smoothly
  • Maintain Storage records and documentation
    o FIFO (First In First Out) adherence falls under Schedulers charge
  • Coordinate daily storage activities, such as but not limited to, rework, bin weighing and receipt, and prioritizing potatoes for the wash line
    o Overall seed bin movement falls under this directive as well
  • Lead and/or participate in continuous improvement, problem solving, and daily recap meetings
    o Lead and/or participate in start shift meetings as well as daily, weekly and monthly safety reviews
  • Monitor storage processes to ensure bins are ticketed and stored properly and tasks are completed
    o Report inconsistencies or issues to Lead/Supervisor/Manager for prompt correction
  • Assist Lead/Supervisor/Manager in the coordination and implementation of storage team enhancement, including but not limited to, new hires and new process improvements
    o Participates in annual retraining or safety retraining as necessary
  • Monitor special orders and top priority customers, ensuring that customer needs are met
  • Reports equipment issues, as needed, to Lead/Supervisor/Manager.
  • Supports Cold Storage Manager with projects and daily tasks pretrained to inventory needs.
  • Continuously monitors inventory levels using Produce Pro reports.
    o All inventory reporting performed as of 6/10/19 will remain as assigned
  • Attends daily Production meetings, especially when Storage manager is unavailable to attend
  • Monitors temperature/humidity in the cold storage rooms to maintain optimal storage conditions.
  • Assists in the receipt and processing (between drivers and QC) delivery of purchasing products
    Required Skills & Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years Inventory/Storage environment experience
  • Working knowledge of basic storage logistics
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work assignments in a fast- paced environment
  • Ability to coach and train employees in warehouse environment
  • Analytical with strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to walk/stand for up to 8 hours, in temperature-controlled warehouse environment
  • Regular bending, stooping, turning/twisting, and lifting
  • Availability on weekends as needed
    Preferred Skills & Qualifications
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) - required
  • Food & Beverage environment experience preferred
