General Purpose:

This position is responsible for building relationships and selling parts to prospective customers over the phone or in house. Additional responsibilities include inventory management as well as supporting parts and application needs for the shop. This position is also responsible for ensuring reasonable inventory levels by negotiating and purchasing materials, supplies, and services necessary as well as receiving incoming shipments, preparing outgoing shipments and distributing parts to the parts department/warehouse.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conducts sales of trailer parts over the phone and over the counter
  • Orders parts as necessary
  • Answers customer calls and identifies parts
  • Receives and processes customer orders
  • Responds to customer&##39;s inquiries, questions, or complaints regarding products
  • Records changes in inventory status by completing paperwork and updating data base as necessary
  • Assists with retail space shelf stocking
  • Load and unload shipment of parts, supplies, and equipment with a forklift
  • Order material and supplies for the facility
  • Pick up parts as needed from local vendors
  • Input material requisitions in Traverse
  • Communicates with shop to prepare parts orders for upcoming jobs and to verify accuracy of materials used in order to maintain inventory control
  • Completes parts quotes for customers
  • Perform miscellaneous office management functions including contacting parent company and/or phone, internet, and other outsourced service providers as needed for maintenance and/or repairs
  • Performs local office functions including scanning all required paperwork to parent company
  • Answering phone
  • Open mail and distribute accordingly
  • Performing unpacking of shipment deliveries
  • Preparing packages for shipping
  • Preparing shipping documents
  • Determining methods of shipment
  • Maintaining records of incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Consolidating shipping orders
  • Attend departmental training, such as safety and equipment training
  • Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities of this job
  • Wear required PPE at all times and observe health, safety and environmental policies
