This position is responsible for all activities related to the marketing/placement of property and casualty (P&C) coverages for commercial agriculture clients. Provide prompt, accurate, courteous service to sales agents, insurance carriers and company personnel. Provide customer service to customers as assigned and requested. Provide re-active services and assist Sales Agent and/or account executive with pro-active services. Specific marketing responsibilities and re-marketing activity is required in this position. Meet marketing, retention and quality standards adopted by the agency.

  • Respond to new business prospects professionally and accurately within established timeframes
  • Provide technical support to sales agent(s) to benefit customer and to reach agency&##39;s strategic business goals
  • Pre-qualify insurance prospects according to agency standards, insurability and quality of risk
  • Independently design or assist in design of insurance plans for prospects as assigned and directed by agency management
  • Prepare submission applications and assist sales agent(s) in the gathering of information needed for a complete submission
  • Generate quotes on appropriate in-house rating programs in accordance with company new business underwriting guidelines
  • Submit applications and related documentation to eligible and appropriate carriers; follow up to ensure timely receipt of quotations
  • Review quotations in coordination with sale agent and prepare formal proposals for presentation to customer
  • Bind coverage within binding authority; request the binding of coverage from carriers when no binding authority exists
  • Secure signed applications and, when appropriate, prepare invoice for insured and collect appropriate down payment in coordination with sales agent(s)
  • Submit signed applications to carrier; follow up to confirm timely processing of new business and coverage binding, as well as delivery of identification cards and policy documents
  • Verify policy information, facilitating corrections when necessary; communicate with insured to confirm delivery by carrier; confirm accuracy of initial billing
  • Effectively communicate program benefits and features, underwriting criteria, and eligibility rules to prospective and existing clients, regional sales agents, broker partners and customer service center staff; provide information within established departmental timeframes
  • Follow agency procedures, and through the use of agency-defined technology, maintain record of activities and communication with insureds; produce reports as defined by management
  • Assist with remarket activities for existing business as requested by management
  • Consistently demonstrate high standards of integrity by supporting the Cooperative mission and values. Maintain proper level of professionalism and proactively work to ensure confidentiality standards are met and comply with or exceed NYS and federal (HIPAA) requirements
