We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist to handle Human Resources activities in the manufacturing plants (Vernon and Colton) and be a strategic partner to the plant leadership team.
Ensure plants are in compliance with local, state and federal laws as well as established HR processes and procedures.
Provide functional expertise and HR leadership.
Ensure objectives, goals, strategies and metrics are communicated and delivered.
Assist with various core annual programs including but not limited to: Benefits Open Enrollment, and Performance Reviews.
Assist with Recruiting and Onboarding.
Assist with worker compensation claims management.
Handle Leaves of Absences (FMLA, CFRA, PDL, Worker Comp, Personal, etc.)
Handle HRIS (UltiPro & Benefits Prime) maintenance.
Assist with English/Spanish translation – verbal & written.
Serve as the employee advocate in facilitating the resolution of employee relations issues.
Facilitate communication across the organization providing guidance to employees and leaders on problem solving, dispute resolution, regulatory compliance, and litigation avoidance.
Provide continual leadership and guidance to team members for the purpose of increasing their effectiveness and establishing good working relationships.
Promote an environment conducive to teams, teamwork, and accountability.
Enforces all company rules in a fair and consistent manner.
Follows J&J Snack Food’s Food Safety Plan (FSP), the Safe Quality Food (SQF) Program, the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and the Good Documentation Practices (GDPs).
Follows all OSHA safety rules and all food safety laws and regulations.
Complete special projects, duties and assignments, as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & EXPERIENCE:
Five (5) plus years in Human Resources required in a Generalist/HR Representative role.
Five (5) plus years in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources or related field preferred.
SHRM PHR/SPHR preferred.
Requires ability to travel to Vernon & Colton plants to provide onsite HR support, generally 3 days at Vernon & 2 days at Colton.
Requires bilingual speaking, reading & writing skills in English & Spanish.
Knowledgeable about labor law (state & federal). Experience enforcing applicable labor laws & Company policy.
Minimum 5 years' experience handling employee relations and conflict resolution and investigations.
Minimum 3 years' experience recruiting, sourcing, and onboarding candidates from hourly to exempt-level.
Experience handling HRIS data entry & generating required reports. UltiPro experience a plus.
Experience in LOA administration processing- FMLA, CFRA, PDL, Personal, ADA/FEHA.
Knowledgeable handling Worker compensation claims management.
Experience writing Job Descriptions and working with supervisors to do ADA analysis.
Experience working with Benefits administration, including Open Enrollment.
Experience working with Temporary agencies on a large scale.
Experience responding to UI claims & representing company at UI hearings.
Proficiency in the use of MS Office software including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Ability to work under pressure and to react to situations with a strong sense of urgency.
Solid problem solving, project management, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills.
Detail oriented, organized, reliable and resourceful.
Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
