Each summer we welcome over 30 interns across our organization in multiple facets of the business. We are searching for a college student or recent college graduate to join our team as a Human Resources Corporate Intern at the Selbyville,DE complex for Summer 2021. We are looking for an individual who values hard work, fresh ideas, and a commitment to Operational Excellence. Internship Objective
To provide a meaningful work experience over a period of 10 weeks which is mutually beneficial to the Company and the successful intern candidate. Interns will be assigned a mentor and a project to be completed during their assignment. Interns will perform additional assignments; however, completion of the project will be the primary objective for the work experience.
Job Requirements
Primary Project:
This project is a continuation of our Compensation analysis and strategy and will focus on validation of our existing job descriptions, grade structure and compensation programs. The incumbent must have a valid driver's license and be willing to visit various locations to observe and record the know-how, problem-solving and accountability factors associated with various positions in the organization. Information gathered will be used to enhance existing job description, conduct point factor analysis and make recommendations for change.
Work/Meet with representatives from all departments across the organization.
Review current job descriptions against the Primary Purpose, Duties and Responsibilities, Qualifications, and Accountability factors for each position in the salary structure.
Spend time in various departments to understand the business and apply this information to job descriptions
Participate in Hay Point Factor Analysis of job descriptions
Analyze data and make recommendations on salary structure changes.
Spend time learning about the HR process, procedures, and company policies
Evaluate JEM(Job Evaluation Management) system changes
Presentation project scope and findings at the end of the summer in a Cap Stone presentation to Human Resources Management
Required Skills
Ability to work in a fast paced, visit various locations (Hatchery, Feed Mill, Processing Plant, Administration) to observe and validate job descriptions.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and Word
Work in a team environment, Self-Motivated and accepting of challenges and detail oriented
Outgoing with a positive attitude, willingness to ask questions, learn, and engage with the management and hourly workforce
Preference will be giving to students pursuing a Human Resources or related degree
Must have a valid driver's license
Must be currently enrolled and pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree at an accredited College or University
