Position Overview
The Human Resources Assistant (Bilingual in Spanish highly desired) will support the areas of benefits deployment,
employee relations, employee records maintenance, training administration, communication, recruiting & staffing and
legal compliance for a culturally diverse manufacturing organization. The Human Resources Assistant will partner with
the Human Resources Manager/ plant management team to support all levels of the organization.
Essential Functions
§ Primary contact to assist employees with interpretation of HR company policies, procedures, and documentation.
§ Support Benefits Administration - Perform administration of all benefit options including monthly benefit bill
reconciliations, benefit enrollments and premium/claims monitoring.
§ Responds to unemployment claims and monitor Disability, Workman&##39;s Comp and Leaves of Absence to include
FMLA, Parental Leaves, Military Leaves and Other leaves of absence.
§ Assist with New Hire on-boarding and orientation.
§ Assist with the recruitment and staffing process, posting job openings on Job Boards, etc.
§ Work with Payroll Administrator to maintain Employee Master Data in HRIS system, including changes for benefits,
terminations and setting up new hires.
§ Assist with employee communications on ADP Systems, Cafeteria Screens and Emails.
§ Assist with Training administration, planning training schedule and monitoring compliance.
§ Support weekly payroll functions by providing data for Worker’s Compensation, FMLA, parental leaves and
disability. Conducts training on HR policy updates and translations to other departments.
§ Participates in and provides advisory support to all staff in facilitation of the performance management process.
§ Provides guidance to employees regarding policies, procedures, and state and federal regulatory compliance
§ Assures all corrective action plans, disciplinary procedures, terminations and other employee affairs are conducted
legally, ethically and consistent with company policy.
§ Collaborates with management to guarantee a safe and secure working environment and maintain compliance with
local, state and Federal laws.
Qualifications Summary
§ Bilingual in Spanish and English highly desired
§ HR Assistant with 3+ years of experience in a plant, retail or restaurant environment
§ ADP experience desirable
§ Flexible schedule to support 24*5 plant operations
§ Demonstrated team player/ good communication & organizational skills
§ Ability to generate credibility for the HR function through interpersonal skills
§ High degree of proficiency with Excel and Word, along with strong PC skills
