The candidate will lead the development and execution of global category strategies related to Indirect and Capital spend, following a step by step sourcing process.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Following a sourcing process that includes industry and supplier analysis, supplier development, negotiation strategy, sustainability strategies, and ongoing supplier relationship and contract management for the designated global categories in conjunction with the regional business units to ensure global, regional, and local alignment with the strategies.

  • The person will be responsible for overseeing and working with the local teams on the execution of the strategies agreed to. Primary responsibilities include leadership on over-arching global strategy development, supplier management, negotiation, risk management, and the execution of contracting as directed by the strategies agreed to.

  • The candidate will be the primary contact for market expertise in designated categories, the candidate will develop costs for budgeting purposes in conjunction with each region.

  • Providing thought leadership on improving the current global and regional sourcing processes and tools, including the development of tools for the improved tracking, managing, and execution of global/regional sourcing practices.

  • Developing, preparing, and executing global sourcing events in conjunction with Global Purchasing Council Members.

  • Communicate with internal customers on indirect and capital spend topics, issues, and market developments that could impact global or regional P&Ls.

  • Apply legal and ethical behavior to negotiations and supplier relationships.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree; Masters degree a plus.

  • Professional certification a plus (CPIM/APICS).

  • Bi-Lingual a plus (English and Spanish/Mandarin).

  • 7-10 years in Indirect & Capital Purchasing/Sourcing or Category Management.

  • Knowledge of sourcing processes and sourcing practices.

  • Knowledge of sourcing strategy and best-practices.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across geography and functions to influence from the top to the bottom of an organization.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute Indirect and Capital purchasing strategies.

  • Proven negotiation experience.

  • Proven cross functional project management skills.

  • Ability to effectively work remotely and travel to other regions remotely and travel to other regions.
