POSITION: Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) Technician - 2nd shift from 12pm to 8:30pm

REPORTS TO: FSQA Manager

JOB SUMMARY & KEY OBJECTIVES

Plan, execute, and monitor assigned food safety & quality assurance tasks across facility and across all functional areas to ensure the production of high-quality products. Ensure and maintain a safe and clean work place.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

  • Provides technical guidance to production team and performs allergen cleaning verification.
  • Leads daily GMP audits and completes proper follow up to ensure full completion.
  • Conducts environmental pathogen swabbing and pre-op inspections.
  • Audits the production and warehouse areas to ensure that all production schedules and quality standards are met in order to provide a quality product.
  • Identifies and initiates sanitation opportunities within the production and warehouse areas.
  • Conducts microbiological testing of hands to monitor plant hand sanitizer unit.
  • Conducts hourly sieve analysis and microbiological testing on plant equipment swabs: SPC, Coliform and Yeast/Mold.
  • Ensures compliance to all regulatory and company requirements
  • Ensures processes, work in progress, incoming goods, in-process product, and finished products meet specification requirements.
  • Ability to interpret testing results to release product that has met specification requirements.
  • Processes documentation for non-conforming product and communicate information to facility management.
  • Conducts routine inspection of processing areas including documentation to ensure that all documentation is present and correct and that all areas comply with GMPs and sanitation requirements
  • Promotes favorable employee relationships by handling employee issues in a timely manner related to product quality.
  • Ability to problem solve and recommend solutions.
  • Capable of generating daily shift reports regarding daily sieve analysis, food safety and food quality.
  • Has in-depth understanding of manufacturing and plant operations.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma plus 2+ years of experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control in manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated Technical and People Skills.
  • Has solid functional knowledge of food safety and quality control functions.
  • Basic understanding of HACCP principles.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills required.
  • Must be self-starter and require minimal daily directions.
  • Highly motivated and able to work with multiple teams simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively with people in all levels and functions in the organization.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including special projects and weekends.
  • Is comfortable with technology and proficient with computers.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 75% of time: Standing/Walking/Climbing/Lifting (up to 50lbs)/Pulling and/or Pushing/Grasping with fingers/Reaching with hands and arms/Stooping and Crouching.
  • 25% of time: Extreme hot and cold conditions.
