Food Sensory Scientist

  • Our food manufacturing company in St. Louis, MO is actively looking for a Food Sensory Scientist. This Scientist will assist the team members in the development of the program research objectives and business impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define sensory objectives and recommend testing strategies to support program objects.
  • Carry out appropriate sensory tests to industry standards by working with sensory staff and descriptive panelists.
  • Develop and recommend new test methodologies to incorporate where it is needed to improve product understanding.
  • Analyze sensory data and write comprehensive reports for project leaders detailing results and conclusions.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required.
  • 4+ years of experience in Food Sensory with proven track record and strong applied statistics knowledge and experience.
  • Experience in sensory analysis of food materials is a must have.
  • Experience in analytical chemistry, applies statistics, method development and product development are required.
  • Ability to set up and manage panels and present to clients.
  • Testing background along with strong sensory descriptive profiling experience.
  • Experience in working with customers or co-suppliers.
  • Ability to write Excel Macros preferred.
