Food Safety & Sanitation Supervisor

Working for a global leader in food ingredients manufacturing, this is a great opportunity for someone that is strong in facility sanitation, hygiene, and food safety.

This role will take ownership of the sanitation requirements for this important facility at the company.  Food safety and HACCP leadership is another critical factor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as site Preventive Controls Qualified Individual
  • Facilitate all aspects of the sanitation program
  • Continuously verifies / validates sanitation effectiveness and propose better ways to clean / sanitize, maximizing results and minimizing cost
  • Performs routine audits and sanitation inspections of equipment and recommend maintenance / repair needs for correction to comply with sanitation practices
  • Creates, maintains, and trains applicable personnel on sanitation and cleaning procedures and documentation to insure correct performance
  • Develop and maintain sanitation chemical control (approvals, labeling, storage, usage) program for facility
  • Serve as the site HACCP Team Lead and manage the establishment, implementation, maintenance and update of HACCP plan(s) and program.  Responsible for training employees in HACCP
  • Administer the Environmental Monitoring program to include weekly swabs, data collection and trending, corrective action management, and reporting of results to appropriate unit management
  • Lead finished product micro failure investigations and oversee implementation of corrective and preventative actions
  • Must be willing to work across all shifts to support sanitation activities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in science or technical field preferred but not required if can provide industry expertise
  • 5+ years ideal of experience in sanitation
  • Practical understanding of food safety and quality systems ideal
  • Flexible interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and in a variety of cultures – both internal and external
  • Excellent communication skills, both in creation and execution
  • Responsible for completing 1-2 projects per year
  • Interface with the North America Continuous Improvement organization

  • There is no travel associated with this role
