Our services have been retained to recruit three FOOD PACKAGING PRODUCT MANAGERS (sales technical support for primary packaging materials) for one of the nation’s leading independent packaging distribution companies which offers business solutions through quality packaging systems, products and technical services.  Growth has dictated the addition of these newly created roles which report to the Director, Food Packaging.  30-40% travel anticipated and it is required these individuals be based in one of the following cities…

Midwest (based in Chicago, Indianapolis or Des Moines)

Southeast (based in Atlanta or Nashville)

West Coast/Southwest (Los Angeles)

These exciting jobs will essentially combine technical knowledge with sales skills.  Truly a sales support role for both new and existing clients.  The emphasis is geared to selling primary packaging materials for both flexible and rigid products. Having a high degree in technical knowledge and expertise in various substrates, application, graphics, and functionality is an absolute requirement in this role/position. Providing a consultative and solution-based approach to projects/opportunities is a critical skill set along with positioning my client’s core value proposition to their customers. To ensure clients' and their own company's needs are met, the Food Packaging Product Manager works closely with the sales force and a range of departments, such as research & development, marketing/design, purchasing, production, quality control/quality assurance, and senior company managers.  These individuals must be self-driven and a highly motivated person that possesses a confidence level and skill set for solving problems and driving results.


Positions requirements

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree
  • Technical knowledge and skill set for flexible packaging materials (roll stock, bags, pouches)
  • Technical knowledge and skill set on rigid trays, containers, bottles
  • Technical knowledge on MAP packaging
  • Experience providing product education and training to the sales and support team
  • Knowledge of food processing/packaging automation equipment
  • Experience sourcing and negotiating with new food packaging vendors; and sales experience of 2-5 years selling to food processors/manufactures (primary packaging materials).

BOTTOM LINE:  A degreed, self-motivated, high energy professional who offers high product knowledge of packaging materials and at least 2 to 5 years related sales experience.
