Finance Analyst - Supply Chain (Contract) Meadowvale

The Opportunity:

As a part of Supply Chain Finance team, this position will be responsible for analyzing and reporting Freight & Storage results for Prepared Meats; understanding and investigating the variances. The Finance Analyst will also support inventory reporting and will work closely with the Inventory Management team providing accurate and timely financial analysis support and other requirements. This position reports directly to Finance Manager, Supply Chain.

A snap shot of some of the exciting things you will lead and do:

  • Perform month-end activities including accruals, allocations, adjusting entries, etc.
  • Prepare and distribute weekly & monthly reporting for Freight & Storage and Inventory, including variance explanations and cost trackers.
  • Play a key role in the annual budgeting and forecasting process including updating templates and interacting with business leaders to obtain their inputs. Maintain and update planning freight and storage model used for standard rates.
  • Maintain the standard F&S rates in SAP and act as a key point of contact with respect to any questions. Work closely with commercial teams on distribution estimates.
  • Investigate Freight & Storage variances, analyze trends and provide explanation to management.
  • Provide Ad Hoc reporting and support requests from various areas of the business.
  • Prepare and maintain the department’s weekly financial Metrics for analysis and distribution.
  • Reconcile & balance Finished Goods inventories in SAP.
  • Provide support in various analytical initiatives and cost saving projects.
  • Update and maintain all SOP&##39;s, Master Templates, monthly data files.

What you will bring:

  • Post-secondary education in a finance/business related program is required
  • 1-3+ years of progressive finance experience in an ERP environment
  • Strong analytic and advanced problem solving.
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills with the ability to present financial information to non-financial functions
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Attention to detail
  • Must have excellent systems skills and advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with cost accounting, budgeting and internal controls
  • Must strongly demonstrate our Maple Leaf Leadership values
