Position summary:  Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to standards.

 

Position responsibilities:

  • Running fillers, filling out paperwork, changing codes, changing from one product to another, changing and hooking up tanks, sanitizing machines at correct intervals.
  • Observes the container cleaning, filling, capping operations and takes action to correct any deficiencies.
  • Removes defective containers.
  • Eliminates jams in lines.
  • Observes fill of containers and proper capping.
  • Keeps hoppers supplied.
  • Uprights fallen containers.
  • Uses electrical switches to start and stop lines.
  • Oversees and maintains coders, controls line speeds, and performs certain Quality Assurance checks.
  • Maintains production reports and records.
  • Makes minor repairs to equipment, and capable of all line changeovers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Reading, writing, numeracy, oral communication, problem solving.

 

Education and Experience:

  • High School Graduate / GED

SQF Requirements/Responsibilities:

  • Support SQF requirements by maintaining food safety plan and food quality through completing job tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manor to ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, and Kosher product requirements.
  • Report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action and or Food Defense issues to the Food Safety and Quality Department.

Likewise, food safety is a key performance indicator. Understanding this, GMP and housekeeping procedures are to be followed as part of any job at our facility.
