he Field Sales Manager is the key market level salesperson in assigned geography responsible for executing a go-to-market strategy that includes both Direct Store Delivery (DSD) and direct routes to the market. Family-owned manufacturer specializing in ready-to-drink (RTD) beverages. 

Must be able to perform responsibilities successfully.

  • Implements sales strategies to deliver annual volume objectives of the market, expanding account and package distribution to maximize sales
  • Continuously monitors and reports competitive activities and keeps abreast of market trends
  • Monitors the performance of distributors within the assigned territory, identifies issues, and resolves them quickly
  • Works with distributor personnel and retailers to ensure sales, distribution, and merchandising objectives are met
  • Trains and develops distributor sales personnel on Company’s standards to optimize sales performance
  • Rolls out and champions the Company’s platform across all market segments
  • Responds timely to customer inquiries and resolves issues and concerns promptly while keeping customer retention a priority
  • Effectively leverages Field Marketing resources with local retailers and supporting key retailer sales calls with the Division Sales Manager
  • Establishes sales budgets for the assigned geography, in conjunction with the Director of Distribution
  • Uses the ShelvSpace App daily to record account calls, accomplishments, and opportunities
  • Other duties as assigned

The minimum requirements

  • 5+ years of demonstrated successful sales experience growing markets within the Consumer Packaged Goods industry, preferably food/beverage
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience working for or with Direct Store Delivery (DSD) Distributors
  • Account sales experience is a plus
  • Sound financial acumen
  • Knowledge and understanding of Nielsen and/or IRI syndicated consumption data helpful
  • Proactive, self-starter with demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Confident and decisive decision-maker with the ability to positively influence other
  • Competitive and charmingly persistent in nature with the ability to work in a collaborative, team environment
  • Strong sense of urgency to meet schedules, deadlines, quotas, and performance goals
  • Responsive and flexible with a strong commitment to customer service
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficient in MS Office Programs, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to comfortably lift 50 lbs
  • Willingness and ability to travel a minimum of 4 days a week throughout the designated territory to meet with customers and attend sales meetings/trade shows
