SUMMARY: The Facility Maintenance is responsible for performing duties to maintain and repair all facility lighting, water lines, painting, insulation repairs, pressure washing and upkeep of the internal and external areas of the building, minor floor repairs, and basic repair of the dock doors including roller, track, and seal repairs. The Facility Maintenance works from daily job assignments and instructions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Knowledge of voltage 110, 220 and 480 and control voltage.
  • The ability to rebuild pumps and replace seals.
  • Maintain facility equipment, Air Compressors, Water Towers.
  • Fabricate and weld Mild steel through Stainless Steel.
  • The ability to change motors and wire them up to 110, through 480, 3 phase.
  • Maintain ownership areas assigned.
  • Able to maintain PMs and Work Order through a CMMS system
  • Repairs of the floor with Tufco floor patch kits and quick set epoxy.
  • Repairs of water leaks and piping replacements of plant water lines, PVC, Copper, Black Pipe, Galvanized, and Scheduled 40 and 80 PVC.
  • Perform regular checks on all building such as sprinkler system, lighting (external/internal), and floors, Roof Inspections, Cleaning Gutters, Checking Exhaust Fans and Replacing Filters as required.
  • Work closely with the maintenance personnel, service technicians, production team, bulk team, and warehouse personnel on building/floor repairs.
  • Complete requisition repair items, as needed.
  • Assist outside contractors with on-site projects.
  • Follow safety rules, keep work area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Responsible for food product quality and safety.


  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, required.
  • Related Courses through technical or trade schools, including in-house training, preferred.


  • Good knowledge of CMMS, preferably Maximo.
  • 6 months to 1-year experience in building maintenance or Trade school, preferred.
  • 6 months to 1-year forklift experience, preferred.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in plumbing and basic electrical, preferred.
  • Experience with common hand tools (i.e. drill press, grinders, hand power tools)
  • Must be able to perform on-call duty on any shift and work overtime on short notice basis. Long-term, temporary assignments to any shift may be required.
  • Continuous standing, walking and reaching.
  • Intermittent crouching/stooping, pushing/pulling, bending and lifting/lowering.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance, as needed.
  • Ability to work in a continuously hot environment.
  • Duties are performed with some exposure to noise, lubricants and chemicals. May also work in areas that are confined, dusty and dirty or require personal protective equipment.
