Our client, a manufacturing company located outside of Lowell, MA is looking for a Facilities Engineering Manager to join their team.


What you will do in this role:


  • Works with maintenance and production management to develop, evaluate and recommend methods for improving plant, utility efficiency and reducing waste of product/materials.
  • Develops interface with plant and maintenance management to ensure focus and coordinated efforts.
  • Manage wastewater department and contractors to sustain the proper system operation and compliance with local and state regulatory agencies.
  • Under the direction of the Plant Manager, plan and prepare capital expenditures.
  • Commissions and manages third party engineering, design, and construction firms to developing detailed feasibility and design studies.
  • Conducts root cause analysis of issues and in-depth analysis of the alternatives, based on information obtained in the studies and makes comprehensive recommendations for improving and efficiencies of plant operations.
  • Works closely with plant management in scheduling construction with product production in such a manner that no interruption in production/product delivery is experienced and that proper sanitation is maintained.
  • Understands OSHA requirements and designs and supervises the construction/engineering of faculties or production systems that will result in compliance with current federal and state safety laws.
  • Keeps current on new equipment and engineering technologies used in the food industry.


What you will bring to the role:


  • Technical knowledge/ Ability to read and interpret drawings.
  • Excellent project management skills including the ability to negotiate with outside contractors and vendors.
  • Excellent spreadsheet/project computer skills, Auto Cad expertise
  • Flexible work scheduled to include weekend project work.
  • BS in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical or Process Engineering/ Master’s degree.
  • 5 + years of related Engineering experience.
