We currently have an Environmental Specialist position available at our facility in Don Plant in Pocatello, ID. In the Rocky Mountain foothills, Pocatello offers a university, parks, golf, and outdoor recreation.


Ensure regulatory compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Maintain and lead RCRA program for management of solid wastes. Thorough understanding of rules, regulations and equipment involved in handling hazardous and all solid waste including but not limited to storage, packaging and disposal. Oversee and direct waste shipments, maintain documentation, logs and summary spreadsheets. Conduct in-house environmental training on RCRA and conduct facility audits to assure compliance. Understand DOT regulations and the application of said regulations in the industry. Ability to analyze and interpret permits and regulatory requirements. Work with Operations, Engineering and Maintenance to perform monitoring, sampling and testing. Provide support for activities involving waste management, characterization and manifesting as needed.


Compiling data for location reporting needs.Understanding environmental regulations and statutes, interpreting the impact to operations and identifying activities necessary for compliance.Auditing of the facility regularly to ensure compliance with company policy and environmental regulatory requirements.Preparation and management of regulatory submissions, such as chemical inventory reports, transportation registrations, hazardous waste generation reports, etc. Store and maintain information in electronic and hard copy form as appropriate for the specific data.Management of hazardous waste activity as required by RCRA (EPA) to ensure that wastes are properly characterized, manifested, stored, shipped and reported. Prepare itemized summaries hazardous waste disposal charges, for review and approval, so that each department&##39;&##39;s costs appropriately include the waste charges.Technical assistance with special projects as they are assigned. Provides support on any environmental related items that may arise in the facility.Providing training to internal customers on various environmental processes, tasks and responsibilities.Handles identification and planning for Asbestos Abatement.
