We are based in Norwood, Massachusetts, which is comfortably within the Boston metropolitan area. HMF&##39;s facilities include a state-of-the-art plant, and R&D facility, as well as warehouse and Corporate functions. We are focused on continued growth and are executing against various initiatives that include additional product lines, new sales channels, greater penetration of our extensive customer relationships, as well as opportunistic acquisitions. Our success is directly dependent on attracting and retaining the best possible talent across our functions. To this end, we are posting for an Engineering Technician/ Fabricator.

OVERVIEW OF ROLE

We are looking for an individual with experience in the layout, fabrication, welding and fitting of conveyors, small platforms and industrial machine modifications. Projects vary from small repairs, custom machine fabrication and the installation of production equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Read and interpret blueprints and sketches
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions and perform repairs as needed
  • Fitting, welding, measuring, laying out and inspecting parts
  • Cut, fabricate and tig weld stainless steel components
  • Verifying dimensions and product specifications
  • Assist with the installation and setup of new equipment
  • Ensure working environment is clean and safe
  • Follow companies GMP&##39;s

    QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 2 years&##39; experience with Tig welding stainless steel
  • Minimum 3 years&##39; experience in metal fabrication
  • Experience using milling machines and lathes is a plus
  • Knowledge of OSHA rules, codes and regulations; and occupational hazards and standard safety practices.
  • Good Communication skills: ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications; and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used in welding and fabrication.
  • Safely operate associated hand and power tools such as saws, grinders measuring tools, etc.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Mechanical aptitude with proficient shop math skills
  • Applicants must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed,
  • Team player with positive attitude and focus on quality, efficiency and safety
