JOB SUMMARY/ JOB DUTIES:

  • The Facility Maintenance Technician works closely with every department to assist with day-to-day maintenance of the manufacturing facility.
  • The position requires a highly organized, conscientious, reliable professional who will be discreet with sensitive information and has adherence to deadlines and attention to detail.
  • Makes rounds of buildings and grounds at regular intervals; inspects doors, windows, and locks to see that they are working properly and securely fastened.
  • Service and repair building floors, walls, ceilings, roof, doors, locks, woodwork, plumbing fixtures, light bulb and fluorescent tube replacement. (Both internally and externally)
  • Perform building maintenance as required, using hand tools, motorized lifts and machine tools such as grinders, drills etc.
  • Install, troubleshoot and repair all electrical equipment as needed.
  • Perform minor plumbing to repair pipe, valve and pumps leaks as needed.
  • Provide or manage continued preventive maintenance on all buildings and grounds equipment.
  • Maintain outside grounds in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Works in a safe manner and recognizes unsafe situations. Takes appropriate action to ensure safety of themselves and others in building.
  • Gathers and disposes of rubbish and waste materials.
  • Perform other duties as required by supervision.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Building and plumbing certifications preferred.
  • General electrical and mechanical aptitude preferred.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Willing to understand and support change, as it relates to the need and emergency of the job.
  • Experience using hand tools.
  • Experience in SAP preferred.
  • Self-motivation with a strong drive for results; must be able to deliver objectives with only minimal supervision.
  • Proven leadership ability; must serve as a role model in the areas of safety, quality, workplace conduct, attendance, etc. Effective verbal and written skills.
  • Computer proficiency is required in Outlook, SAP, Microsoft office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to multi-task and set priorities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have medical clearance to wear respiratory protection (air purifying respirators properly fitted)
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Ability to walk, lift, bend, stoop, climb ladders, walking on roofs, and working in confined spaces.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The Facilities Technician will be required to work at elevations requiring fall protection such as a safety harness.
  • Driving and using Forklifts, Boom lifts and waves, must be able to get certified for all.
  • Culture of teamwork, collaboration, positivity and support.
